Accounting Specialist (Independent Contractor)

We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Specialist to support our global accounting operations. This role will primarily focus on maintaining accurate and timely financial records for a US-based company with international manufacturing and vendor relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately record and apply customer receipts, ensuring timely reconciliation of accounts receivable
  • Process vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and route to appropriate employees for approval in the accounts payable workflow
  • Review, classify, and reconcile employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and other closing activities to support timely financial reporting
  • Manage customer and vendor communications by sending payment reminders, confirmations, and resolving discrepancies in a professional manner
  • Record and reconcile payroll-related entries, ensuring accuracy between system outputs and the general ledger

Requirements:

  • 2-5 years of accounting experience, preferably supporting US-based companies
  • Solid knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP, Business Central, NetSuite, or similar platforms
  • Knowledge of US accounting principles and multi-currency accounting practices
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with Power BI is a plus
