Job DescriptionThe client is seeking an experienced ESG and Sustainability Specialist with a strong background in the mining industry to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and executing sustainability initiatives, with a particular focus on sustainability report writing as per the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021 Standards, and greenhouse gas (GHG) calculation and reporting.
This role is based in Odisha, and the candidate will be stationed at the client site, assisting in developing their sustainability report and enhancing their ESG performance.
The desired project duration is
6 months, full time in Bhubaneshwar .
Job ResponsibilitiesSustainability Reporting: Prepare comprehensive sustainability reports in accordance with GRI 2021 Standards. Collect, analyze, and interpret data to ensure accurate and meaningful reporting. Collaborate with the client to gather necessary information and insights for the report. Assist the client in developing and enhancing their sustainability reporting processes.
ESG Management: Develop and implement ESG strategies and initiatives that align with the company's goals and regulatory requirements. Conduct ESG assessments and audits of operations and supply chains. Identify and close gaps in ESG practices and compliance.
GHG Calculation and Reporting: Calculate and report greenhouse gas emissions in compliance with international standards and frameworks. Develop and implement decarbonization strategies to reduce the company's carbon footprint. Monitor and report on the progress of GHG reduction initiatives.
Training and Development: Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness and understanding of ESG andsustainability practices within the organization and at the client site. Keep abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in ESG andsustainability.
Qualifications: Must be B.E. or B-Tech. (Preferably in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related field) or an MBA (full-time degree). Minimum of 7 Years of Total Work experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience in ESG and sustainability roles, with a focus on the mining industry. Proven expertise in sustainability report writing as per GRI 2021 Standards. Strong knowledge of ESG principles, GHG calculation methodologies, and decarbonization strategies. Experience conducting ESG assessments and audits. Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in data analysis and sustainability reporting software.
Skills and Competencies: Familiarity with other sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., SASB, TCFD, CDP). Experience with environmental and social impact assessments. Knowledge of regulatory requirements related to mining and environmental protection. Certification in ESG or sustainability-related programs is a plus.
