In this role, you’re expected to:

A Citibank Risk Organization Agile Project Manager acts as a Scrum Master and Coach and leads by example. You are a professional who stays abreast of developments within the Agile Community, can relate them to Project Management industry standards and adapt them to Citi internal PMO needs. While you understand the frameworks (Kanban, Scrum, Less, Lean, etc.) you are at heart a practitioner confidently launching new teams and aiding existing teams to cultivate a truly agile mindset. Your end-product is high performing teams that make significant impacts to the Risk Organization through complex, frequent, and incremental deliverables. You understand the challenges faced by Product Owners establishing a business-driven yet collaborative approach with technical team members and have provided guidance or stepped into that role when asked. You are comfortable working with teams delivering technical solutions as well as teams delivering non-technical solutions (such as Policies, Procedures, Process Changes, Training, Operations, etc.). A successful candidate frequently contributes to the overall Risk Organization strategy by guiding the Product Owners to communicate business value based on measurable and quantitative business objectives and KPIs. Highly developed communication and diplomacy skills are essential in order to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers.

Responsibilities:

Train, enable, and support Product Owners and enduring Agile teams to deliver using Agile methods and Scrum Practices with ultimate focus on business outcomes based on Objective Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Act as Agile Project Manager for compliance with Citi Project Management requirements.

Own Scrum/Kanban ceremonies and metrics.

Establish and Lead the Scrum and Kanban teams in self-organization, establishing norms, agreements and cadence.

Remove impediments and coach the scrum team on removing impediments.

Help the product owner to define business value and capture business requirements in Epics/Stories and roadmap format

Help the scrum teams accelerate delivery focused on business outcomes

Guide team to reaching higher levels of scrum maturity.

Inspire the team to learn and continuously improve

Challenge the status quo and don't be afraid to be a change champion

Influence teams within the Risk organization and build relationships to drive a successful outcomes.

Encourage innovative ideas to help address new challenges and drive business results.

Utilize Design Thinking and Business Process Engineering to work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define a project scope and objectives for project members.

Engage with 2 to 4 teams concurrently.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

Qualifications:

4 - 8 years of Agile practical experience being a Product Owner and/or Scrum Master.

Scrum, Design Thinking certification preferred, but not required.

Preferred knowledge and experience working in Risk, second line of defense organizations.

Preferred financial industry experience.

Ability to analyze and think quickly and to resolve conflict.

Team builder.

Knowledgeable in various Scale frameworks (Kanban, Scrum, Lean, S&S, LeSS, SAFe, Spotify, etc.).

Knowledgeable in techniques to fill in gaps in the Scrum. Ability to determine what is Scrum and what is not.

Experience with successful Agile techniques.

Ability to work with and lead a team.

Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills.

Ability to adapt to a changing environment.

Influencer. Change agent and courageous.

Self-motivation and ability to stay focused in the middle of distraction.

Superior experience and knowledge in MS Office applications, MS Teams, SharePoint, JIRA, Confluence, Collaborate, VISIO, Adobe Acrobat Professional.

Education:

Bachelor’s/University degree, Master’s degree preferred
