The Head of Engineering will lead and transform our engineering function into a Centre of Excellence, driving automation, innovation, and in-house machine development for competitive advantage.

The ideal candidate will have deep experience in FMCG manufacturing environments, a strong understanding of process engineering and industrial automation, and the ability to build and lead high-performing engineering teams.

Responsibilities: ----

  • Lead the design, prototyping, and production of custom-built machines tailored to internal manufacturing needs.
  • Build and scale an internal machine-building unit with capabilities in mechanical, electrical, control, and software engineering.
  • Define long-term in-house engineering strategy aligned with the companys growth and productivity goals.
  • Benchmark global best practices in engineering and manufacturing and embed them within the organization.
  • Evaluate and implement automation solutions to improve operational efficiency, safety, and quality.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to scale automation initiatives across all sites.
  • Champion the adoption of advanced automation, smart manufacturing, and digital technologies (e.g., IoT, AI/ML in manufacturing, predictive maintenance).
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and assess their potential for deployment within the organization.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation across all engineering domains.
  • Lead pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives before full-scale rollouts.
  • Manage engineering budgets, capex planning, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and sustainability standards.

Preferred candidate profile: -----

  • Strong understanding of PLC/SCADA systems, robotics, industrial IoT, and manufacturing analytics.
  • Expertise in machine design and fabrication, including CAD/CAM tools.
  • Familiarity with LEAN manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma methodologies.
