SSGA is going through a transformational journey for its applications/platform's migration from On-Premises to AWS Cloud. Data and Cloud Architecture organization is a high performing group which work on designing, developing and implementing data & cloud solutions, optimizing the performance and quality of the solutions.

Role:

This is a senior architect role for SSGAs Architecture team which is a core centralized team helping the applications and platform engineering teams with various architectural solutions.

The Cloud & Data Architect is responsible for building Data Architecture solutions using next generation technologies. The individual will be working directly with product/functional owners, application engineers/architects and technologists to deliver data and cloud products/solutions in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for design and development of AWS Cloud and Data solutions Partner with SMEs, product/functional owners, project managers, analysts and Data & Cloud experts to develop Architecture blueprints, Data Pipelines and AWS Cloud infrastructure using the approved patterns by governing bodies Responsible for moving legacy workloads to AWS Cloud, Outpost, OCI/OCC and HCI infrastructure partnering and serving applications and architecture owner needs Work with Data Engineers to build and harden the data pipeline solutions using heterogeneous sources/targets and provide architecture services for firmwide applications Ensure automation through CI/CD for both on-premises and cloud Bring a research oriented mindset and assess various technologies to recommend and integrate with design solutions Be the technical expert and mentor other team members on Data and Cloud tech stacks Run and lead through the Production incidents span across multiple platforms/applications and bring the issues to closure, produce detailed analysis of the incidents even when the best course of action is not evident from the available data points, but actions must be taken/recommended Tune Architectural artifacts, Data Pipelines, Data Warehouse and Lakehouse Solutions for optimal performance Build monitoring solutions for AWS Data platforms for any required proactive actions helping time and cost savings to firm

Skills & Knowledge:

Qualification & Certifications:

A minimum of B.E/BTech degree in Computer Science or related field AWS Solutions Architect Associate or AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification - Preferred

Essential Skills:

15+ years of overall IT experience Hands on experience in Microservices architecture patterns preferably using Java Advanced knowledge of AWS ecosystem, Database/Data Warehousing and Data Lakehouse technologies Hands on AWS Cloud Architecture experience having in-depth knowledge of AWS Core services like EC2, Lambda, SQS, SNS, Cloudformation, Postgres, Redshift/Databricks Experience in designing and developing Data Pipelines for Data Ingestion/Transformation using Java or Python Experience with Spark programming (pySpark preferred) Experience with containerization and related technologies like Docker CICD deployment experience for the mentioned services via cloudformation templates Very good Knowledge of PL/SQL, data modeling, performance tuning, query optimizations in OLTP/OLAP systems Exposure to Apache Airflow

Additional Skills:

Knowledge of Informatica, AWS Glue, Pentaho, Snowflake is a plus Cloud deployment/migration journey experience is a plus

Note that this is an individual contributor role who brings the technical leadership to the organization and collaborates locally and globally to build best IT solutions. The person should have architect mindset and prior experience working in centralized architecture organizations is preferred.
