SSGA IT is a trusted technology partner that relentlessly delivers innovative business solutions for our global clients and employees. The ATS org of IT provides software and services across multiple business groups like Portfolio Constructions, Investment Trading and Oversight, Investment Research and Enterprise functions of Regulatory, Compliance, Finance, Billing, etc.
We are looking for a go-getter, result oriented technology leader who will be responsible for modernizing the suite of Portfolio Constructions applications from conception to delivery by collaborating with Architects, Developers and Product Owners. The person would be accountable for the successful execution of the project milestones with efficiency and quality. This is a global leadership role which can shape technology and accelerate business growth for SSGA and lead to meaningful career path in the organization.
Key Responsibilities include:
Technology Leadership: Comprehend the technology modernization needs to accelerate business growth, drive technical discussions with global architects, define scope, key features and milestones by partnering with product owners. Â Drive the use of re-usable common frameworks, model and components that can be highly leveraged to address common software engineering problems across business functions.
Technology Enabler: Develop an actionable project plan and execute the milestones by working with the global development team. Â Comprehend and adhere to the corporate standards, governance, mitigate technology risks and challenges and make data-driven decisions to optimize project outcomes. Engineering Excellence: Implement and maintain high level of engineering excellence during all phases of SDLC by adhering to quality assurance metrics, embrace processes such as code review, automated testing and corporate DevOps practices.
Delivery Management: Oversee the planning, execution and delivery of the project and ensure the milestones are met. Collaborate with the broader team on budget, improve productivity and efficiency. Be the single point of contact for the project and report the same to senior leadership.
Innovation & Accountability: Foster innovation and thought leadership by being a role model in the team. Be ready to assume ownership and take accountability for the service and solution.
Technology Evaluation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements, evaluate new technologies, and make informed recommendations to improve the performance and efficiency of the solution.
Desired Skills & Experience
- A minimum of 20 yrs experience in the IT Industry having a BE/BTech on CS or equivalent degree
- Track record of working with cross-functional teams taking responsibility of end-to-end delivery of a solution
- Track record of solving cross-organizational issues and removing technology impedances
- Track record of modernizing monolithic applications to modern tech stack
- Strong background on java, spring boot, microservices, caching, database, messaging service and containerizations
- Strong background in deployment of solutions in AWS and use of DevOps tools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to explain and discuss technicalities of solutions
- Ability to provide the status of the project/program to senior leadership
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities to thrive in a fast paced and ambiguous environment
- Knowledge of financial industry and asset management is desirable
