Primary Purpose of Position


  • Identify the right suppliers and factories to ensure capability and timely order execution.
  • Ensure product quality, delivery and price objectives are met or exceeded.
  • Support, coordinate and follow up sourcing activities with cross functional teams/suppliers.
  • Manage sourcing operational tasks including tools and information to ensure accurate and timely execution of orders .
  • Compilation of key reports and data.
  • Validate T&A and WIP to ensure on-time order execution.
  • Know suppliers capabilities, capacity and performance and contribute to the right placement decisions.
  • Support cost negotiations based on an understanding of component pricing.
  • Coordinate sourcing efforts with cross functional teams for the respective Dept/Category.


Specific Duties and Accountabilities of the Job


  • Manage T&A across locations to ensure timely execution of orders, proactively identifying potential product and production issues.
  • Involve Cross Functional Teams to achieve quality, price and delivery requirements.
  • Maintain and update product category market and industrial intelligent to support retail markets for product sourcing. Understand product feature, specification and trend; understand market competition and product benchmark.
  • Understands supplier capabilities, capacity, and performance. Plans regular factory visits to monitor production and assess factory capacity. Evaluates supplier performance, ensuring compliance with company standards and policies, taking corrective actions when necessary.
  • Understand product component costing to provide cost-saving opportunities. Drives continuous improvement initiatives in cost, quality, and delivery performance, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices.
  • Identify and resolve product spec issues upfront. Distribute product specs to the designated supplier. Understand and highlight product requirements of each program to relevant cross functional teams/Suppliers. Drives RFP/RFI/RFQ, negotiates product and price and develops alternatives to achieve sourcing objectives. Identifies and resolves pricing and factory issues with suppliers. Ensure accurate and consistent execution of component costing.
  • Ensure all supplier quotations and samples are completed in a timely manner for appropriate decision making.
  • Execute placements based on supplier capability, capacity, quality & delivery performance.
  • Maintain and update the performance data of each supplier on a regular basis. Monitor supplier performance.
