Job Title : Group Head - Copy

Location : Bengaluru

Experience: 5 to 8 years of extensive experience in copywriting within mainline agencies, mainstream advertising, new media, marketing, or similar roles in mainline creative agencies. (Candidates with experience from other industries will not be considered for this position)


Job Purpose:


We are looking for a skilled and dynamic Group Head - Copy to lead our creative team within our reputable mainline agency. As Group Head - Copy, you will be responsible for overseeing the conceptualization and execution of impactful copy content across various traditional advertising platforms. Your role will involve collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, managing and mentoring copywriters, and contributing to the strategic direction of our creative campaigns.


Key Accountabilities


  • Lead and inspire a team of copywriters, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Develop compelling and persuasive copy content for traditional advertising campaigns, including print, radio, and television.
  • Ensure all copy content is aligned with brand messaging and consistently communicates the agency's values and vision.
  • Collaborate closely with art directors, designers, and other team members to create cohesive and effective advertising campaigns.
  • Provide creative input and ideas during brainstorming sessions, contributing to the development of creative concepts and strategies.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, consumer insights, and market developments to enhance the quality and effectiveness of copy content.
  • Review and edit copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and adherence to creative briefs.
  • Present and pitch creative concepts to clients, explaining the rationale behind the copy strategy.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines and client expectations are met.
  • Foster an environment of creativity, innovation, and continuous improvement within the copy team.
  • Deliver award-worthy work.


Professional Skills:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior copywriting role, preferably within a mainline advertising agency.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing successful copy content for various traditional advertising mediums.
  • Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to guide and mentor a team of copywriters.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a deep understanding of language and its nuances.
  • Knowledge of consumer behaviour, market trends, and effective advertising techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Creative thinker with the capability to generate fresh and original ideas.
  • Strong project management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for copywriting and collaboration.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
