Job Summary

The Production Engineer will be responsible for ensuring smooth manufacturing operations, achieving production targets within set quality criteria, continuously improving processes and maintaining 5S on shop floor. This role involves coordinating between production, quality, maintenance, supply chain, and design teams to achieve optimal efficiency, minimize downtime, and deliver high-quality products.

Responsibilities but not limited to,

A)
Production Planning & Control

  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production schedules in alignment with demand forecasts.
  • Ensure adherence on time delivery as per production plan.
  • Optimize machine loading, manpower allocation, and material utilization.
  • Track production KPIs.

B)
Process Optimization & Improvement

  • Study current production processes and identify bottlenecks.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Introduce automation and advanced manufacturing techniques where feasible.

C)
Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure production processes meet ISO standards.
  • Work closely with the Quality team to resolve defects, rework, and non-conformance issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using tools like 5-Why, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA.
  • Maintain product traceability and documentation per industry standards.

D)
Equipment & Maintenance Support

  • Monitor machine health and report abnormalities.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule preventive maintenance.
  • Ensure minimal machine downtime and quick resolution of breakdowns.
  • Recommend technology upgrades for improved performance.

E)
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)

  • Enforce workplace safety standards and PPE compliance.
  • Support implementation of sustainability initiatives (energy efficiency, waste reduction).

F)
Cost Management & Resource Utilization

  • Suggest cost-saving measures without compromising quality.
  • Ensure optimal use of raw materials, energy, and manpower.

G)
Team Collaboration & Training

  • Provide technical guidance to operators and supervisors.
  • Train shopfloor staff on SOPs, quality, and safety practices.
  • Foster teamwork and problem-solving culture on the production floor.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate, B.E preferred

Experience: 2 – 3 years' experience in relevant field

Other Computer Skills: Microsoft Office
