As a TCAD Engineer , you will be responsible for making key decisions in developing devices/processes used in memory products. We are engaged in developing groundbreaking silicon-to-systems solutions – right from technology development and advanced memory designs to product development, systems design and validation resulting in world class memory solutions.
In this position, you will collaborate with various design and verification teams all over the world and support the efforts of groups such as Product Engineering, Test, Probe, Process Integration, Assembly and Marketing to proactively design products that optimize all manufacturing functions and assure the best cost, quality, reliability, time-to-market, and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Apply advanced process & device modeling tools during process development for insights into scaling, optimization and feasibility studies as applicable.
- Develop models that predict the behavior of semiconductor devices.
- Get useful insights through model development of the device structure, particularly for parameters that are difficult to measure otherwise.
- Study detailed process and device design/optimization using advanced TCAD tools.
- Interpret measurements (electrical characterizations, param, probe data) through modeling-based validation and/or substantiation.
- Provide useful early inputs for new and emerging technologies – materials, devices and structures.
- Interact with a variety of teams including process integration, characterization, circuit design, reliability and product engineers to analyze and debug device and circuit-related issues, including model to silicon mismatch during process development.
- Refine and calibrate existing/future physical models to increase predictive capability of the models.
- Be proactive in identifying potential issues and addressing them early.
- Have a well-defined continual improvement plan.
- Demonstrate strong device physics approaches and achieve/maintain device modelling skills.
- Look for opportunities in advancing modelling activities (e.g. transient, reliability, variation or retention modeling)
- Make key decisions for the team, as well as provide clear direction, goals and metrics for success of the team.
- Demonstrate a strong work ethic and be highly motivated.
- Take part in cross functional teams to solve critical problems.
- Understand technical literature and apply it to ongoing TCAD projects.
- Create intellectual property through promptly writing up patent disclosures & filing them.
- Establish clear and strong lines of communication allowing a quick response to customer requirements
- Communicate key information via presentations and group discussion and drive informed decisions through management, peers, and direct reports.
- Prepare documentation and communication to PI Engineers.
- Exhibit good presentation skills – written and oral.
