Role Overview:

As our Freelance Instructional Designer, you will partner with an SME to design, develop, and refine curriculum and instructional materials for our workshops and bootcamps. You will play a critical role in shaping content that is pedagogically sound and highly engaging, ensuring that participants gain valuable insights and practical skills applicable to the AEC industry.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the Subject Matter Expert to:
  • Analyze workshop objectives, target audience, and content requirements.
  • Design learning outcomes, course outlines, and lesson plans tailored for the AEC/design audience.
  • Develop comprehensive instructional materials, including:
  • Slide decks, facilitator guides, participant handouts, interactive activities, and assessments.
  • Multimedia content (videos, animations, graphics) to enhance learning engagement.
  • Apply best practices in instructional design and adult learning theories, particularly within the context of AEC or design education.
  • Ensure content accuracy, clarity, and alignment with workshop goals.
  • Revise and iterate on materials based on feedback from stakeholders and pilot sessions.
  • Maintain project documentation and timelines, delivering high-quality work within set deadlines.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Instructional Designer, preferably with a focus on workshops, professional training, or educational programs.
  • Experience in the AEC industry or design pedagogy is desirable but not a necessity.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, etc.) and adult learning principles.
  • Proficiency with e-learning authoring tools and multimedia software (e.g., Articulate, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey complex concepts clearly and engagingly.
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a freelance capacity.
  • A portfolio showcasing previous instructional design projects, particularly those relevant to AEC or design sectors, is highly valued.
