Job Overview:

The IT Administrator will be responsible for the administration and management of both Linux and Windows environments. This role involves ensuring the stability, security, and performance of systems, along with managing network devices such as switches and firewalls. The ideal candidate will also have expertise in virtualization strategies and networking hardware, including cables, Manage switches, and firewalls etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain both Linux and Windows servers to ensure performance, security, and stability.
  • Perform routine updates, patches, and system maintenance across all platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Implement, configure, and manage Virtualized environments, including virtual machines and hypervisors.
  • Manage storage solutions, including setup, configuration, and maintenance of file systems,CEPH, NAS, SAN, and backup storage.
  • Configure and manage network devices, including manage switches, routers, firewalls, and cables.
  • Monitor network performance and ensure up time and reliability across the organization.
  • Implement firewall rules and manage network security configurations.
  • Ensure backup and recovery systems are operational for both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Work with various Linux and Windows protocols (e.g., SMB, ISCSI, NFS, CIFS, FTP, HTTP, DHCP, DNS, LDAP) to manage file sharing, network communication, and directory services.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and network designs thoroughly.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in IT administration, managing both Linux and Windows systems.
  • Strong knowledge of networking components, including manage switches, routers, firewalls, and cables.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies like Proxmox, VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM.
  • Proficient in system security, user management, patch management, and performance tuning.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across both Server hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of basic scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) for automation and system tasks.
  • Experience in managing hybrid IT environments (on-premises and virtual).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configuration.
  • Strong understanding of network security practices and firewall management.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with different teams and explain technical issues clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
