Job Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior ServiceNow CMDB (Configuration Management Database) Developer with a strong background in ServiceNow Discovery. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of the CMDB within the ServiceNow platform, ensuring data accuracy and supporting IT service management processes.

This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to optimize configuration management and drive automation through ServiceNow Discovery.

Key Responsibilities :

CMDB Development & Management :

- Design, develop, and maintain the ServiceNow CMDB to support IT service management (ITSM) processes.

- Ensure accurate configuration data through automated discovery, reconciliation, and manual updates.

- Develop workflows, scripts, and automation rules to support CMDB data integrity and lifecycle management.

- Collaborate with infrastructure and application teams to define and maintain configuration items (CIs) and their relationships.

ServiceNow Discovery Implementation :

- Lead the deployment, configuration, and optimization of ServiceNow Discovery to identify and track IT infrastructure assets across cloud and on-premises environments.

- Ensure accurate discovery of hardware, software, network, and cloud resources, and maintain their relationships within the CMDB.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Discovery probes, sensors, and patterns.

Process Improvement & Governance :

- Define and enforce CMDB governance policies and standards to maintain data quality and compliance.

- Work closely with the ITSM, change management, and operations teams to integrate CMDB processes with broader ITIL practices.

- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement in configuration and discovery processes.

Customization & Integration :

- Customize ServiceNow CMDB and Discovery modules, including the creation of custom scripts, business rules, and UI policies.

- Integrate ServiceNow CMDB with external systems for asset and configuration data ingestion.

Reporting & Analytics :

- Develop CMDB-related reports and dashboards to provide visibility into configuration data, dependencies, and asset health.

- Analyze and resolve data discrepancies within the CMDB and Discovery results.

Qualifications :

- Education : Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Experience :

- 5+ years of experience in ServiceNow development with a focus on CMDB and Discovery.

- Strong understanding of ITIL processes, especially Configuration Management.

- Proven experience with ServiceNow Discovery, including probe and sensor customization, pattern creation, and troubleshooting.

Skills & Competencies :

- Proficiency in ServiceNow platform development, including scripting (JavaScript), workflows, UI actions, and business rules.

- Hands-on experience with the ServiceNow Discovery module, including cloud discovery (AWS, Azure, GCP) and network discovery.

- Experience with MID server configuration, management, and troubleshooting.

- Strong analytical skills to interpret configuration data and resolve data discrepancies.

- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Certifications :

- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).

- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) - Discovery.

- ITIL Foundation Certification.
