Education:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.

The Role:

We are looking for a talented Python (A/ML) Developer with a strong background in data engineering and data science to build and optimize our quantitative trading infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the entire data pipeline, from sourcing and cleaning raw financial data to developing and back testing trading algorithms. This role requires a unique blend of software engineering proficiency, a deep understanding of data manipulation, and the ability to apply data science principles to financial markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Engineering: Design, build, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to ingest, process, and store large volumes of financial market data (tick data, fundamental data, etc.).
  • Data Manipulation & Analysis: Clean, transform, and analyze complex datasets to identify patterns, anomalies, and potential alpha signals. Ensure data quality and integrity for all downstream applications.
  • Trading Backtesting: Develop and implement a backtesting framework to rigorously test the performance of trading algorithms using historical data. This includes building performance metrics, simulating market conditions, and managing scenario analysis.
  • Algorithm Development: Collaborate with quantitative researchers to translate trading strategies and mathematical models into production-ready Python code.
  • Software Development: Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code. Contribute to the design and architecture of our core trading systems and data infrastructure.
  • Performance Optimization: Profile and optimize code for speed and memory efficiency, particularly for data processing and backtesting simulations.
  • Research Support: Assist in data-driven research initiatives, providing technical support and data insights to the quantitative research team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Python Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency in Python and its scientific computing stack (_ NumPy, pandas_, SciPy, scikit-learn).
  • Data Engineering: Proven experience with data pipeline development, ETL processes, and working with large datasets. Familiarity with tools like Desk, Spark, or similar frameworks is a plus.
  • Data Manipulation: Strong expertise in using pandas for data cleaning, transformation, and analysis.
  • Trading Back testing: Hands-on experience building or using back testing frameworks (e.g., Zipline, back trader, or a custom-built solution). A strong understanding of back testing biases and pitfalls is crucial.
  • Data Science Knowledge: Solid understanding of statistical analysis, machine learning concepts, and their application to time-series data.
  • Database Skills: Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB) for data storage and retrieval.
  • Software Engineering: Strong software development principles, including version control (Git), testing, and code review.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: A genuine interest in financial markets, quantitative trading, and a basic understanding of financial instruments.
