Job Summary:
The Assistant Payroll Manager oversees timesheet and self-bill report processing for healthcare staff, supervises the payroll team, resolves payroll errors and queries, ensures compliance, and collaborates with cross-functional teams. They continuously improve payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy, implementing best practices and automation.
Responsibilities:
Overseeing the processing of timesheets and self-bill reports for healthcare staff placed with hospitals
Generating of other payroll related required daily/weekly/monthly and ad-hoc reports
Supervise and support the payroll team in day-to-day operations.
Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to team members.
Investigate and rectify errors in payroll processing or reporting.
Oversee payroll query tickets and ensure timeous resolving.
Work closely with the umbrella compliance team, providing guidance and support to ensure payroll compliance, accuracy, and efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll-related issues and maintain effective communication channels.
Review and improve payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy.
Implement best practices and automation to enhance productivity and reduce manual effort.
Qualifications:
A min of 5-year work experience in managing payroll.
At least 3-year experience with leading a team and proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively. Experience in overseeing a team of more than 5 individuals, preferably in a payroll or compliance function.
Understanding of payroll processing, knowledge of UK payroll is a Must.
Advanced Excel skills.
Strong process orientation.
Bachelor’s degree in finance or higher.
Excellent English verbal and written communications skills.
Committed to a high level of service delivery for clients and candidates.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, proper solutions, and implement process improvements.
Proficient in using payroll management software and tools, Experience with Merit and/or Eclipse is preferred.
