The Sr. Director of Sourcing Operations integrates & inspires the cross functional Supply Chain team (Design & Quality Assurance, Plan, Source & Deliver) and supporting functions (Human Resources, Finance) located in India, creating an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
• The job holder ensures that the local teams cooperate to deliver on customer expectations and the company's financial objectives while ensuring compliance and governance across all aspects of the business.
• The incumbent partners with the various Category Sourcing teams to facilitate the implementation, localization and execution of the sourcing strategies and supply network design for the India region.
• Leads Operational Excellence programs to drive structural improvement in the operational performance at the factories in India.
• Represents company in the region and manages the company relationships with external local partners & local service providers in the supply network.
Key Responsibilities:
Implementation, localization and execution of the procurement strategies and supply network design
o In partnership with the Sourcing Category Teams, facilitate the local implementation of the sourcing strategies and supply network
o Ensure current and future supplier base in India has the capabilities to develop and deliver safe, sustainable, and reliable products on time, in full and at competitive costs, while complying with Company Compliance and Sustainability standards.
o Facilitate onboarding of new suppliers and localization of components and materials
Lead the structural operational excellence programs at suppliers, driving improvement on key metrics (Quality, Service Level, New Product Launches and Compliance).
• Lead Regional Supply Chain team:
o Integrates & inspires the cross functional SC teams (Design, Plan, Source/Make & Deliver) including supporting functions (HR, Finance, others) located in India, creating an environment oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort
o Partner with SC functional leaders to identify talent and address people performance issues as needed to support talent management & succession planning.
• Drives execution & operations excellence across Design, Plan, Source/Make and Deliver in assigned region:
o Support Planning & Logistics teams in managing the ‘day to day’ production planning, output and shipment performance while initiating and facilitating structural improvement in service levels and lead-times.
o Support Sourcing Managers in the supplier performance & business reviews. Ensures that proper Corrective Action Plans (CAP) are in place and followed through
o Support costing teams in their negotiations with local suppliers and service providers.
o Support the Quality Assurance team to facilitate structural product quality, safety, and reliability improvements at factories.
Requirements:
Minimum 15 years of Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing and/or manufacturing experience in Consumer Goods or Automative manufacturing in India.
• Additional experience in Supply Chain (Procurement, Outsourcing, Planning & Distribution) operations would be preferred.
• Degree holder in related discipline preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
• Energy & Passion: Boundless energy & unlimited bandwidth to get the job done. Eager to do the right things for company and not constrained by job description, function, departmental thinking, working hours or time-zones.
• Internal Impact: Builds and maintains a solid network and partners intensively with Global Supply Chain and Commercial Markets to spark them to perform, influence decision making and integrate the business & functional priorities
• External Impact: able to influence respectfully senior leaders at manufacturing partners, material suppliers, model-shops, toolmakers, logistics service providers and test-labs to address their issues and
have them take ownership to drive operational excellence in joint product development, supply, quality, compliance, and cost.
• Edge: strong negotiator with desire to Play to Win, forcing concrete actions & decisions from each meeting/discussion, willing & able to makes difficult decisions on people and external partners
• Execution: Consistent, hands-on, and pragmatic performer, consistently deliver on all Procurement goals (Operational Excellence, Product/Material Costs Savings, Supplier Performance Improvement) and tackle any internal/external performance or relationship issue and proactive solve them.
