Summary of This Role
Manages the operation, maintenance and administration of the organization's operating and management systems so that they function reliably, meet the organization's business needs, and use the organization's IT resources effectively. Oversees activities relating to technical guidance for planning, directing, and monitoring operating systems. Plans and recommends operating system modifications or additional equipment to increase the capacity of the system. Prepares operational cost estimates for current and proposed plans. Evaluates vendor proposals for purchases of hardware.
What Part Will You Play?
Provides leadership to team for support and implementation of enterprise hardware and operating systems. Coordinates team members to meet the goals of the division and company. Supervises team members skilled tasks. Plans and oversees activities relating to system modifications or additional equipment to increase the capacity of system, and also provides technical guidance for planning, directing and monitoring the organization’s hardware and operating system. Manages the organization’s infrastructure systems, and service (hardware and software) operation, maintenance and administration to ensure function reliably, meet the organization’s businesses needs and use the organizations IT resources effectively. Participates in 24/7 on-call support. Ensures all environments, platforms and procedures are maintained and supported for operating systems, middleware and vendor supplied systems to meet and exceed regulatory standards. Acts as the subject matter expert in all internal and external audit activities attending meetings and providing explanation and evidence as required. Manages and ensures resolution of all related remediation activities. Ensures environments are monitored for capacity, growth and performance, with regular gap and performance analysis to review key performance indicators. Ensures systems and application monitoring is active, accurate and responded to appropriately. Plans for continuous improvement activities to improve stability of service. Enforces information security requirements and guarantees change control procedures followed. Develops and implements controls, standards and procedures to ensure that critical infrastructure components are maintained and managed to meet ongoing business requirements. Determines, recommends and delivers hardware, firmware and software upgrades through research and consultation both internally and externally. Builds and maintains relationships with infrastructure vendors and suppliers to improve support and reduce issues. Produces relevant metrics and reports and participates in regular meetings to review key performance indicators. Monitors overall infrastructure and platform utilization to ensure that it is optimized to deliver the capacity and performance levels required of it. Provides detailed capacity management performance reports and graphs for senior management level capacity meetings. Manages service improvements, costs reductions, contributing to budget items. Evaluates and researches projects in progress, projects in the development pipeline and operational changes which may affect the infrastructure so that any impact can be properly assessed. Consults on and coordinates the delivery and implementation of all infrastructure projects ensuring that all relevant standards and support requirements are complied with. What Are We Looking For in This Role?
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, Relevant Experience or Degree in: related field of study from an accredited university is required; however, relevant experience in lieu of a degree may be considered. Typically Minimum 6 Yrs. of Related Professional Experience & Prefer a Minimum of 1-2 Yrs. Supervisory Exp.
