We are currently seeking a passionate
Physical Education (PE) teacher
to join our team as a dedicated Subject Matter Expert for PE, working with
children aged 3 to 10
, as part of our continued growth and development efforts. The ideal candidate must be organized, and capable of fostering innovative and engaging learning experiences within available resources. Creating a holistic, inquiry-based environment, the candidate will instil thoughtful and ethical behaviour, ensuring the IB Learner profile values guide the heart of learning in our school.
Key Responsibilities:Design and implement PSPE lessons that seamlessly integrate the IB PYP Framework, incorporating key concepts, learner profile attributes, and ATLS.Design and deliver PSPE lessons that encourage inquiry, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes the well-being of all students, respecting diverse backgrounds and abilities.Implement differentiated instructional strategies to meet the individual needs of students and provide a supportive environment for their physical and emotional growth.Collaborate with IB Coordinators and colleagues to contribute to the development of Units of Inquiry that connect PSPE with other subject areas.Actively participate in planning and implementing cross-curricular units of inquiry.Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of student learning, emphasizing formative and summative assessments aligned with IB and the school’s assessment requirements.Use a variety of assessment tools to measure student progress, ensuring that documentation reflects the development of physical skills, conceptual understanding and the display of the Learner Profile attributes.Engage with the school community by organizing health and wellness events, workshops and activities.Collaborate with parents to enhance students’ physical and emotional well-being beyond the classroom.Actively engage in professional development opportunities and contribute to a collaborative learning community.
Skills & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education or a related field.Master’s degree is preferred.Teaching certification/license in Physical and Health Education or equivalent.Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Additional Information:Job location is in Chetpet, Chennai. This is an on-site job.School timings are from 7.30 am to 3.00 pm.A
