Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Freelance Senior Data Engineer with expert knowledge in SQL, Azure Synapse, Medallion Architecture, and Scala to join our project team. This role involves creating and maintaining robust data pipelines in a cloud environment and providing key insights to drive our business solutions forward.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Robust Data Pipelines: Collaborate closely with cross-functional tech teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud-based data engineering pipelines.
Code Review and Adherence: Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure all new code meets the high standards of quality, security, and efficiency required by our company.
Technical Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert in data engineering, with a particular focus on Azure Synapse, Scala, and Medallion Architecture.
Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders, fostering an environment of open communication and effective knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
Proficiency in SQL, ETL, and data modeling, with an emphasis on Scala programming.
Extensive experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines in Azure cloud environments, specifically using Azure Synapse and Spark.
Demonstrated ability to manage pipeline SLAs with a comprehensive understanding of modular coding, testing, orchestration, and observability.
Familiarity with software development best practices, including rigorous code reviews.
Required Skills
Proficiency in data engineering technologies and tools, with hands-on experience in Apache Spark, Scala, and the Medallion Architecture.
Working knowledge of cloud computing, including deployment of data pipelines and data connectors.
Strong coding skills in Scala.
