Job Description
As a Robotics Software Engineer - Intern at HyperHorizon, you will support the development and maintenance of the navigation stack, including behaviours, path planners, perception modules and GCS integration for mission-critical AUV subsystems and collaborate with a highly skilled team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment to ensure the reliability and performance of the product.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Contribute to Navigation Stack development on the Linux ROS platform, enhancing robotic functionalities and system integration

  • Write and maintain scripts in Python and Bash for various automation and deployment tasks

  • Utilise Git for version control, collaborating with the team to manage code repositories and track project progress.

  • Work with robotic simulation tools like Gazebo to develop and test algorithms in a virtual environment before deploying them to physical robots

  • Help strengthen the test suite and add to the DevOps process for testing


Requirements


  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science or a related field

  • Strong programming skills in Python and familiarity with Bash scripting

  • Experience with Git for version control and collaborative software development

  • Familiarity with the Robot Operating System (ROS) or similar robotic frameworks

  • Basic understanding of robotic simulation environments like Gazebo


Desired Qualification and Skills

Beginner-level experience in implementing Navigation Stack and complex interprocess communication methods.

Requirements
Minimum 2+ years experience in firmware development. Experience in low-level driver development using systems programming languages. Familiarity with communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, USB, RS232/485, Ethernet and CAN. Proficiency with C and concepts like memory management, scheduling, and interrupts. Familiarity with git and build toolchains Experience in working with interdisciplinary teams
