The Digital and Platform Services (D&PS) division of the CIB is an organization of over 30,000 staff providing Technology and Operations support for the CIB’s businesses, and is focused on creating highly scalable, digital platforms that support the needs of our clients. This includes a number of cross-business Operations platforms such as Securities Operations which provides settlement and asset servicing of securities across JP Morgan, primarily providing direct support to the Markets, and Securities Services businesses, but also supporting Treasury Services, Asset and Wealth Management.
Morgan Payments provides cash management, liquidity, commercial card, foreign exchange and escrow solutions to clients across the world. Teams are constantly innovating, using the latest technology and data analytics to deliver specialized solutions to help clients grow and streamline their businesses. The organization combines four lines of business: Merchant Services, Treasury Services, Commercial Card and Trade Finance to help clients manage working capital and increase operational efficiency. The payments business is rapidly growing.
About the Team
Transformation Design & Delivery is part of the Payment Operations organization supporting CIB wide transformation and change programs and platforms. Our mission statement is powerful yet simple ‘build things better and build better things’. Ensuring that the things we build have been properly thought through, are high quality, sustainable and delivered quickly. We are focused on identifying opportunities to build more innovative things, often across products and LoB’s, where we can bring the organization together to define solutions/builds which are broader reaching.
The successful candidate will partner with Operations, Product, Client Service & Implementations, and Technology & Testing in developing the product management function and strategic state for the Payments Investigations function to meet the needs of multiple LOBs post-settlement investigation requirements.
Additionally, this opportunity includes joining the firm-wide ISO 20022 program which is led by Global Clearing Product, to meet industry wide milestones in standardising global financial messaging. The Payments Operations workstream is one of three key workstreams, alongside product and technology. The market wide strategic improvement to financial messaging and use of the Swift ISO 20022 standard will improve the quality, timeliness and transparency of all payment data, enabling quicker, more secure transactions, greater product integration, improved straight through processing and a decrease in breaks and investigations.
About the Position
The candidate is expected to drive initiatives under stringent timelines and in a fast-paced dynamic environment. The candidate is expected to have strong communication and influencing skills, strategic thinking, collaboration with multiple impacted teams, flexibility and result driven.
Coordinate Project execution for Operations planning, prioritization and readiness in line with the Swift ISO20022 market go-live roadmap Identify ‘as is’ processes, change requirements, business requirements and resourcing in support of Business Analysts and technology Subject Matter Experts Business Analyst for defining the business requirements for development and commercialisation of new product capabilities Articulate and document process flows including customer interactions and Operations intervention Cover functional and non-functional requirements including but not limited to Product features, Operational requirements, Regulatory and Compliance requirements, User Interface, Client reporting, Sanctions, Resiliency and Scalability. The requirements must be able to cater to current expectations and allow scalability for future changes in business mode Perform impact analysis for business initiatives to determine key business groups that will consequently be required to undergo technical or operational process change Partner closely with Product and Technology partners to help define globally consistent platform architecture Conduct gaps analysis as required to determine degree of change emergent from business initiatives Work with UAT team to determine the testing strategy and ensure thorough testing of all capabilities Tracking the overall progress of an initiative and identify any potential Red flag and collaborating with various stakeholders for resolution of the issues to ensure timely completion of the projects Drive Operations readiness to support new product roll out by ensuring documentation of process flows, operational procedures, training, user entitlements, clearly defined roles and responsibilities and establishing escalation matrix Anticipate internal and external factors impacting the global payment strategy and implementing plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities Defect analysis, prioritisation and exploring alternative solutions Independently leading an initiative working with cross functional teamsRequired skills and qualifications
5+ experience in Banking / Financial services Strong Payments knowledge and / or prior experience in driving large scale strategic projects is preferred Well versed with Agile methodology and experience in driving projects under the said framework Strong Project management skills and ability to work independently Strong problem solving, collaboration, communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority Strategic thinker with ability to define future state business model and drive execution to that effect Ability to multi-task and manage and deliver competing priorities Attention to detail with logical thought process Self-motivated, tenacious with excellent time management/prioritization skills Experience in designing, delivering & presenting executive level content Strong Microsoft office skills Adept at working in matrix organization and dynamic high performance teams Leverages the organization to deliver results quickly-
