We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager, Business Banking HK, WCRM Offshore, Kolkata GSC’S

Work Location- Kolkata

The aim of this job is to undertake underwriting for lending applications for Business Banking, to monitor the portfolio and to ensure existence and adequacy of control mechanism for borrowing requests from business banking customers of various branches in Hong Kong and sent for approval to Offshore. Credit scoring is used for both existing HSBC customers and businesses looking to open an account with HSBC for the first time. The underwriters will be required to carry out a structured, independent judgmental assessment of the applicant’s ability to repay the borrowing they have requested.

Qualifications - External

Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications 

What you will need to succeed in the role:

Qualified Chartered Accountants / MBAs. 1-2 years experience in Corporate / SME Credit or Relationship Management in a reputed Bank/ FI is preferred. Demonstrate commercial credit skills, not only on a transaction basis but also credit process management. In-depth understanding of credit products viz. – Short Term loans, working capital financing, knowledge of the HSBC Group, particularly banking operations and products. etc. Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices. Strong analytical skills with ability to quickly interpret data & facts to arrive at meaningful conclusions and assess the business / financial prospects of the borrowers
