Position Summary
ACTIVITIES Manage Design team and guide them for using standard digitizing and C.A.D. design techniques, skills, design rules and specifications to prepare design tapes for pattern generation, determine scales, perform mathematical calculations and prepare layouts, renditions, variations and similar applications. Responsible for the specification and/or selection of parts and/or materials suitable for the product under development. Considerations weighed in making these determinations include design properties, processing properties, production environments, and end-use environments. Generate and verify BOM for projects assigned to him/her. Provide resolution on customer queries and resolve them to get document approvals Improve design and optimization on cost. Get trained on new products and improve lead time to customer Interact with shop floor to ensure manufacturability of designed products Lead on IMS initiatives for the function. Support on resolution of customer complaints & Site issues.
Essential Responsibilities
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Mechanical Engineering with 10 to 15 years of working experience in Pump / Contract Engineering – Pumps / Project Consulting firms / Project Engineering firms / EPC firms
Experience:
Minimum 10+ years’ experience in Project Engineering, BOM Creation, verification and customer intearaction.
Skills/Knowledge sought: Pump and valve products knowledge Chemical and Oil & Gas industry knowledge Strong design judgment. Good knowledge of design software’s like AutoCAD and Pro/Engineer Good knowledge of MS-Office and Ms-Project Knowledge of ERP system is desirable
