Description:
Fluids Analyst(MATLAB Modeler)
Location: Remote(anywhere)
Responsibilities includebut are not limited to:
  • Work in theLunar Permanence Fuel Cell team performing Thermal and Fluidanalysis on components and integrated systems
  • Develop and validate fuel cell stack and balance of plantthermal and/or fluid models using MATLAB Simulink (Thermal DesktopFloCAD are a plus)
  • Advanced expertise inMATLAB programming is needed
  • Support thedevelopment of low and highfidelity stack component pipe andmanifold models
  • Communicate analysis resultsto customers to inform design decisions and ensure requirements aremet
  • Work closely with design engineers toensure model accuracy and recommend design improvements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering AerospaceEngineering Chemical Engineering or related technical subjectareas
  • 25 years of relevant Thermal or Fluidsanalysis experience in Aerospace Automotive or another relevantindustry
  • Sound fundamentals in thermodynamicsfluid mechanics and physicsbased mathematical models
  • Ability to read understand and use Process andInstrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for performing calculationsfor compressible incompressible and twophase systems
  • Work collaboratively in a fastpaced and often uncertainenvironment while demonstrating personal leadership technicalcompetence and attention to detail
  • Ability toearn trust maintain positive and professional relationships andcontribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Excellentverbal written and graphical communication skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanentresident (current Green Card holder) or lawfully admitted into theU.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Desired:
  • M.S. or Ph.D. orequivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering AerospaceEngineering Chemical Engineering or related technical subject areasExperience working with the following: MATLAB & Simulink(Experience with Thermal Desktop FloCAD Python scripting Amesim GTSuite is a plus)
  • Demonstrated anchoringfirstprinciples models to higherfidelity simulations and testdata
  • Experience modeling steadystate andtransient systems specifically thermal and fluid systems
  • Understanding of Aerospace standard processes methods andprocedures
  • Experience supporting testing andcorrelating models with test data
  • Experiencecreating P&IDs of fluid systems for compressible incompressibleand twophase systems
  • Familiarity with thermaland fluid system components (e.g. valves regulators heat exchangersand pumps for propellants coolants and other fluids)
