Job Title: Manager New Product Development (NPD)
Department: Research & Development / NPD
Reports To: Head R&D / Technical Director
Job Purpose
The NPD Manager will lead and oversee the development of innovative products aligned with business strategy. This role involves supervising the R&D team, driving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring successful execution of product development projects within defined timelines, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) initiatives in line with strategic business objectives.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of R&D professionals to build a high-performing and collaborative work culture.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and project teams to ensure seamless product development, scale-up, and commercialization.
- Oversee timely execution of R&D projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards, safety norms, and company protocols.
- Drive product formulation, testing, and process development to achieve performance, quality, and cost objectives.
- Monitor market and industry trends to identify opportunities for new product innovation and improvement.
- Prepare and present technical reports, project updates, and progress reviews to senior management.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related technical discipline.
- Experience: 5–8 years of progressive experience in R&D, preferably in leathercloth, artificial leather, textiles, furniture, or related industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in product formulation, testing, and process development.
- Proven leadership skills with experience in managing technical teams and product development projects.
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and analytical abilities with the capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Industry exposure to artificial leather, textiles, furniture, furnishings, or similar will be considered an added advantage.
