Plans computerized databases, including base definition, structure, documentation, long-range requirements, operational guidelines and protection. Ensures accuracy and completeness of data in master files and various support tools, such as base dictionaries. Establishes and maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates and monitors policies, procedures and standards relating to database management. Proposes and implements enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system. Note: May be internal or external, client-focused, working in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. May include company-wide, web-enabled solutions.Working at NTT
The primary responsibility of the Database Administrator is to ensure the performance, integrity and security of databases and processes. Individuals in this position contribute to the design of both back-end organisation of data and front-end accessibility for end-users.
Database Administrators work closely with Change Control, Release Management, Asset and Configuration Management and Capacity and Availability Management to establish the needs of users, monitoring user access and security. They assist in controlling access to databases environments through permissions and privileges.
Key role and responsibilities:

Will be responsible for the uptime of the various client projects being managed /monitored.
Willreporttotheteamleader.
Willhavetoreportthedaily/weekly/monthlybasisdatabaseoperation checklist.
WillmakesurethattheTicketsraisedpershiftareclosedintherequired timelimitsandifnotescalatedaspertheescalationMatrixdefined.
RaiseandUpdatetheticketsinNBSSforalltheissueshandled/worked upon.
Willhavetoreportthedailyissueshandled/escalatedintheformofDaily reports/checklist.
ApplyRDBMSpatchesorupgradetheEdition/Instancesasandwhen required,aspertheapprovalfromtherespectiveTeamLeaders.
Will have to do compliance audits of the setups done by the fellow engineerstomakesurethatthesetupbeinghandedovertothecustomer isdonetothecustomer’ssatisfaction.
Needtomakesurethatissuesarehandledinrighttimeframesasperthe SLA /commitments.
WillWorkina24X7Environment(NOC).

Understanding ofWindows
Academic qualifications and certifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in computer science, engineering, information technology or relevant field
Relevant certification, such as MCSE DBA, oracles associate or equivalent
Relevant ITIL certification required
Experience required:
Proven experience working as a Database Administrator
Demonstrated experience with database backup and recovery best practices
Demonstrated experience running and creating health assessment reports
Demonstrated experience working with suppliers to deliver solutions
Demonstrated experience in Oracle Enterprise
Demonstrated experience in Microsoft SQL Server
Demonstrated experience managing databases
Skills Summary
