Vice President/ Sr. Director - Finance


Job Summary:

 

The Vice President of Finance is responsible for the financial health and strategic financial planning of the company. This role involves overseeing all financial operations, implementing financial strategies, managing financial risks, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The VP of Finance works closely with the executive team to drive the company's financial performance and sustainability.


 

Key Responsibilities:


1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

· Develop and execute the company's financial strategy.

· Lead the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.

· Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decision-making.

· Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions.


2. Financial Reporting and Compliance:

· Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.

· Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and regulatory bodies.

· Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.


3. Risk Management:

· Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including credit, market, operational, and liquidity risks.

· Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and policies.

· Ensure adequate insurance coverage and risk transfer mechanisms are in place.


4. Treasury and Cash Management:

· Manage the company's liquidity to ensure sufficient funds are available for operational needs and strategic investments.

· Oversee cash flow forecasting and management.

· Optimize the company's capital structure and funding strategies.


5. Strategic Leadership:

· Partner with the founders and executive team to drive the company's growth and profitability.

· Evaluate and provide recommendations on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic initiatives.

· Lead financial due diligence and integration efforts for business transactions.


6. Team Leadership and Development:

· Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team.

· Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development within the finance department.

· Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide feedback and coaching.


Qualifications:


·      Education : Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. CA/MBA/CPA preferred.

·       Experience : Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance in a senior leadership role.

·       Skills :

·       Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.

·       Excellent knowledge of corporate finance principles, accounting standards, and financial regulations.

·       Proven track record of developing and implementing financial strategies.

·       Strong leadership and team management abilities.

·       Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

·       Proficiency in financial software and systems.
