Here is an exciting opportunity that allows you to work with UAS (Unmanned aerial systems)/Drones, and related solutions and sets you up for a great journey in the UAS space globally.
We are looking for a Senior “UAV Integration Engineer” to join our growing product development team. As an expert in the UAV field, you will be solving challenging problems, responsible for integrating and setting up UAV systems, and piloting and testing UAVs. The requirement is immediate, and we are looking for candidates who are passionate about UAS/Drones and aerospace systems in general.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
● Integrate autopilot hardware and firmware with UAV systems, focusing on Ardupilot and PX4 firmware.
● Implement and fine-tune airframe manual and auto-tune settings for optimal performance.
● Select and integrate electronic components and sensors, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
● Utilize knowledge of serial communication protocols to integrate sensors and other peripherals.
● Analyse log files and sensor data to identify and resolve system issues.
● Perform detailed multirotor tuning to enhance UAV stability and performance.
● Collaborate with the design team to evaluate the feasibility of airframe designs and propose improvements.
● Apply knowledge of aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, and control systems to enhance UAV designs.
● Develop and maintain software in Python, C/C++, and MATLAB for UAV applications.
● Utilize ROS/ROS2 for robotic system integration and ensure smooth operation on Linux OS.
● Engage in embedded programming to optimize system performance and reliability.
● Stay updated with the latest advancements in UAV technology and integrate new solutions as appropriate.
Qualifications - Education/ Skills/ Experience:
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
● Extensive experience with autopilot hardware and firmware integration, particularly with Ardupilot.
● Proven track record in tuning airframe manual and auto-tune settings.
● Strong understanding of electronics and sensor integration, including serial communication protocols.
● Proficient in analyzing log files and sensor data to diagnose and resolve issues.
● Expertise in multirotor tuning and UAV system optimization.
● Solid knowledge of aerodynamics, propulsion, structures, and control systems.
● Proficient in Python, C/C++, MATLAB, and ROS/ROS2.
● Familiarity with Linux OS and embedded programming.
● Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
● Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
