Job Description


We are seeking a Product Design Engineer to join our “Yali Aerospace “team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the design, development, and optimization of our UAVs and associated infrastructure. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and marketing, you will drive innovation and ensure the successful realization of our next-generation aerial systems.


Responsibilities:


  • Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of innovative drone systems and docking stations, considering factors such as aerodynamics, stability, payload capacity, and operational efficiency.
  • Design work shall be accomplished using CAD, FEA, and CFD simulation tools, and rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, etc.).
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners and suppliers to oversee the transition from prototype to production, addressing design-related challenges and ensuring quality and reliability.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and testing (e.g., stress analysis, finite element analysis) to validate structural integrity and performance of our UAV and Sub System Components.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies, materials, and manufacturing processes to continuously enhance design methodologies and product capabilities.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop product specifications, documentation, and marketing materials to effectively communicate product features and benefits to customers.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries, troubleshooting issues, and offering solutions as needed.
  • Other duties include: developing manufacturing drawings and bills of materials for components and assemblies using industry drafting standards, supporting design reviews, assisting project managers with the planning and scheduling of engineering work, and supporting manufacturing & suppliers with the production of components & assemblies.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Opportunity to travel overseas
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in product design and development, with a focus on both drone technology and infrastructure such as docking stations.
  • Proficiency in CAD and Simulation tools for design and analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent communication and Documentation skills.
