Role & responsibilities

The Preventive Maintenance Technician ensures the continuous operation of machinery and equipment by performing scheduled inspections, maintenance, and repairs to prevent breakdowns. This role involves troubleshooting, replacing worn parts, and maintaining compliance with safety and operational standards in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular preventive maintenance on machinery, including lubrication, cleaning, adjustments, and component replacements to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect equipment for wear and tear, such as belts, bearings, and alignment, and replace parts before failure occurs.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic issues to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and inventory of spare parts, or similar tools.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.
  • Assist in the installation, calibration, or relocation of machinery as needed.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams and report issues to supervisors for timely resolution.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Preferred candidate profile

  • 5+ years of experience in preventive maintenance or machinery repair in an industrial setting.
  • Proficiency with hand tools & equipment which are used in manufacturing unit
