Role Overview:

We are seeking a talented GenAI Data Scientist with experience in Healthcare to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to process Swedish medical transcription text, extract relevant clinical information, and map it to standard coding systems. This role will involve adapting NLP models to handle the Swedish language and aligning solutions with the country's healthcare standards.

Your work will directly contribute to PrevHealth.ai's mission of simplifying healthcare workflows and improving care delivery through advanced AI systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement NLP solutions to extract clinical entities (e.g., symptoms, conditions, procedures) from Swedish medical transcription text.
  • Develop algorithms to map extracted entities to standard coding systems, including ICD and local Swedish healthcare codes.
  • Build and maintain data preprocessing pipelines for cleaning and normalising Swedish transcription text.
  • Adapt state-of-the-art NLP models to the Swedish language, ensuring high accuracy and relevance.
  • Collaborate with clinical and technical teams to validate and refine AI models for use in Swedish healthcare coding.
  • Stay updated on Swedish healthcare coding standards and guidelines to ensure compliance.
  • Integrate developed solutions into PrevHealth.ai’s platform, ensuring scalability and user-friendliness for Swedish healthcare providers.

Requirements:

Technical skills:

  • Strong background in Natural Language Processing (NLP), with experience in multilingual or Swedish-specific applications.
  • Familiarity with healthcare coding standards such as ICD-10, and an understanding of Swedish healthcare-specific coding systems and regulations.
  • Proficiency in Python and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
  • Experience with modern NLP models (e.g., Transformers, BERT, BioBERT) and tools for multilingual text processing.
  • Knowledge of rule-based or ontology-based NLP tools (e.g., MetaMap, cTAKES) and methods for semantic similarity.
  • Hands-on experience with healthcare datasets and embedding-based retrieval systems.

Other qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in NLP/AI development, with at least 1 year in healthcare-related applications.
  • Preferred if you have familiarity with Swedish healthcare systems, terminologies, and coding practices.
  • Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR) in handling healthcare data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred skills:

  • Experience deploying AI models in production environments (e.g., via REST APIs or cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Previous experience working with healthcare providers or systems in Sweden.
  • Knowledge of EHR/EMR systems used in Swedish healthcare.
  • Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Proficiency in Swedish (written and spoken) will be good to have.
