About the Role

As a Senior Test Engineer focused on database testing, you will play a critical role in ensuring data correctness, integrity, and compliance across our wealth management platforms. You will partner with cross-functional teams to validate back-end systems, ETL pipelines, and reporting, making sure that data transformations and flows align with business requirements and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform rigorous
    database testing
    to validate data accuracy, integrity, and transformations across multiple systems.
  • Write and execute
    complex SQL queries
    , joins, stored procedures, and functions to support backend validation, data profiling, and functional test scenarios.
  • Analyze business requirements to define, document, and maintain test cases, test scripts, and test scenarios particularly for the database/data layer.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and data engineers to understand data flows, data dependencies, and processes especially in wealth management systems.
  • Test ETL jobs, stored procedures, and data pipelines to ensure end-to-end data consistency, correctness, completeness, and performance.
  • Conduct regression, integration, and system testing in financial platform environments, ensuring that enhancements or fixes do not regress existing behavior.
  • Identify, report, and track defects with precise, detailed evidence; collaborate with development teams to drive timely resolution.
  • Document test results, maintain test artifacts (test plans, test cases, test evidence), and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) efforts.
  • Ensure all testing activities conform to financial compliance, data privacy, and regulatory requirements relevant to the domain (Wealth Management, Investments etc.).

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum
    5+ years
    experience in
    database / back-end testing
    , with full hands-on involvement.
  • Strong expertise in writing complex SQL queries, joins, stored procedures, and functions.
  • Proven experience testing
    data migration
    ,
    ETL workflows
    , and
    reporting systems
    .
  • Preferably, background in
    Wealth Management
    ,
    Mutual Funds
    ,
    Portfolio Management
    , or other Investment Products.
  • Knowledge of
    data warehousing
    concepts and financial reporting systems is a plus.
  • Familiarity with test management and defect tracking tools such as
    JIRA
    ,
    TestRail
    ,
    Postman
    , or
    ReadyAPI
    .
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC), software test life cycles (STLC), and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, problem solving, and ability to work under pressure.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to produce clear, well-structured documentation.
