Specifically, the Senior Accountant will:
Manage Global Accounting :
- Ensure timely month-end closure of financial records.
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Code invoices, process payments, and handle all customer communication.
- Prepare and file all corporate and regulatory filings in India.
- Manage office administration and monthly expenses.
Manage India Payroll:
- Take ownership of India's Payroll process end-to-end, ensuring monthly payroll is processed efficiently and on time.
- Handle computation of employees' pay slips and tax slips every month.
- Handle employees' IT declarations and compute TDS accordingly.
- Handle the entire IT proof submission activity, including assessment of IT proofs, employee queries, and computation of tax sheets according to IT Proofs.
- Work with cross-functional teams, like Operations and HR, to manage payroll and expense processing, ensuring accurate and timely employee payments.
- Resolve payroll discrepancies, answer employee queries such as tax issues, benefits, and deductions, and release payroll communication with employees.
- Ensure payroll setup meets company requirements, and records are aligned with guidelines.
- Maintain and reconcile payroll records and verify and administer payroll data.
- Do other ad hoc responsibilities as required.
Manage India Compliance:
- Employee Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Act – Filing monthly and annual return
- Payment of Gratuity Act
- The Haryana Labour Welfare Fund
- The Minimum Wages Act - Annual return and records to be maintained.
- The Equal Remuneration – Maintenance of the register.
- Contract Labour Act 1970 – bi-annual return and maintenance of several registers.
Qualification & Requirements:
- B. Com with 5 - 6 years of professional experience in India payroll and global accounting.
- Must have experience with Zoho or Greythr Payroll.
- Understanding of Indian payroll law, employment legislation, and payroll taxes.
- Progressive experience in Accounting and Revenue Recognition with a strong understanding of global accounting.
- A CPA license is highly desirable.
- Prior experience working with NetSuite is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working hours: 5:30 PM IST- 2:30 AM IST
