Available Work Location Available: Pune and Chennai (Work from office)

Shift time: Monday to Friday (6.30 pm to 3.30 am)

Essential Job Functions:

Underwrite residential mortgage loans in accordance with Conventional/ FHA and VA guidelines.Reviews/analyzes loan files submitted for borrowers to ensure file meets loan program requirements. Includes individual analysis of: loan application, credit profile/report(s), debt and assets, income/financial statements, loan values/loan-to-value ratios, appraisal reports, collateral and supporting documentation.Input of data and analysis of findings in Loan Prospector, Desktop Underwriter, Asset wise, other AUS engines, and OESAnalyze income from salaried, commissioned, self-employed, investments, fixed income sources.Analyze assets statements for all types of asset accountsIdentifies/calculates loan risk of loss.Should have good knowledge and understanding about the 4C's of Underwriting.Conditions files for missing/supporting documentation.Revisits loans to review and clear conditions.Escalates fraud files to Credit Manager/Risk Management team.Communicate status and decisions (approval, suspense, denial) to the appropriate individuals in accordance with company SLA’sStrong organizational skills.Excellent communication skills (written and oral).Excellent customer service skills.Strong computer proficiency – i.e. – Microsoft Word, Excel, Electronic Mail, Internet and Automated Underwriting SystemsReview and verify income, employment and credit history of applicant, requesting additional information as needed.Examine loan documentation for accuracy and completeness, while working with Mortgage Consultant and/or production staff to secure all required documentsScrutinize accounts from which applicant’s funds originate.Review property appraisal to see if property valued correctly to warrant the loan amount requested.Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision and actively engage with supervisor to resolve complicated issuesStrong time management skills to plan and organize a high daily loan volume

RequirementsStrong knowledge of income calculations, tax returns, reading credit reports, identifying red flagsExperience in reviewing appraisal and title, and ability to recognize red flags and ineligible propertie sGood planning skillsGood balance between people, process & clientsGood client management & relationship building skillsAbility to work in Night shiftOpen to Work from OfficeShould have minimum 2 to 3 years of Experience working as Residential Mortage Underwriter.
