We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer for our WTE (Waste to Energy) plant in Ghazipur, New Delhi. Please find the job details below:

Role Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer with 8 to10 years of hands-on experience in the operation and maintenance of Waste-to-Energy (WTE) or similar power plants. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Control & Instrumentation systems, along with solid grounding in Electrical equipment and systems. The role requires ensuring uninterrupted plant operations, reliability of equipment, and adherence to safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations & Maintenance

  • Oversee and execute day-to-day operations and maintenance of all electrical and instrumentation systems.

  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and maintain Distributed Control System (DCS), PLCs, SCADA, field instruments, analyzers, and control loops.

  • Ensure reliable operation of generators, switchgear, transformers, HT/LT panels, UPS, VFDs, and motors.

  • Plant Reliability & Troubleshooting

  • Conduct root cause analysis for electrical and instrumentation faults, propose corrective actions, and implement long-term solutions.

  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans to reduce downtime.

  • Support plant operations during emergencies and breakdowns.

  • Project & Compliance Support

  • Support upgrades, modifications, and commissioning of new E&I systems.

  • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, safety guidelines, and ISO standards.

  • Prepare technical documentation, maintenance reports, and ensure timely calibration of instruments.

  • Teamwork & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate with O&M team, contractors, and OEMs for smooth execution of jobs.

  • Supervise contractors/vendors during electrical and instrumentation maintenance activities.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical /Instrumentation / Electronics Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in power plants (Waste to Energy, Thermal, Biomass, or similar).

  • Hands-on experience in:

  • DCS/PLC/SCADA systems (Siemens, ABB, Honeywell, or equivalent).

  • Instrumentation systems – transmitters, control valves, analyzers, sensors.

  • Electrical systems – HT/LT switchgear, transformers, motors, protection systems.

  • Strong knowledge of plant safety systems, interlocks, and emergency shutdown systems.

  • Good understanding of statutory compliance, electrical safety regulations, and energy efficiency practices.

  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and during plant emergencies.
  • Leadership skills for supervising teams and contractors.
  • Proactive approach towards reliability improvement and safety.
