Job Title: Plant Head – Electric 2-Wheelers Assembly Plant

Location: Sampla, Haryana

Department: Manufacturing / Operations

Reports to: Managing Director / COO

Role Overview:

The Plant Head will be responsible for the end-to-end management of the electric 2-wheeler assembly plant. The role involves overseeing production, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and manpower management to ensure smooth, efficient, and cost-effective plant operations. The incumbent will play a key role in driving operational excellence, maintaining high safety and quality standards, and achieving production targets in line with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operations Management

  • Lead day-to-day plant operations, ensuring smooth functioning of assembly lines for electric scooters.
  • Plan and monitor production schedules to meet demand, timelines, and cost targets.
  • Ensure optimum utilization of resources, equipment, and manpower.

2. Quality & Compliance

  • Implement strict quality assurance processes at each stage of production.
  • Ensure adherence to ISO, IATF, and other automotive manufacturing standards.
  • Drive zero-defect culture and ensure compliance with statutory & regulatory norms.

3. People & Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate cross-functional teams including production, quality, supply chain, and maintenance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Plan workforce training and development to upgrade skills as per EV industry trends.

4. Cost & Efficiency Management

  • Monitor and control operational costs while improving productivity.
  • Drive Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and other operational excellence initiatives.
  • Optimize inventory management and reduce wastage.

5. Safety, Maintenance & Sustainability

  • Ensure workplace safety, adherence to EHS guidelines, and accident-free operations.
  • Oversee plant maintenance and ensure maximum equipment uptime.
  • Implement green manufacturing practices aligned with sustainability goals.

6. Strategic Contribution

  • Work closely with top management for production planning and capacity expansion.
  • Contribute to product design feedback for manufacturability improvements.
  • Support R&D, procurement, and supply chain teams for vendor development and localization.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.Tech / M.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical / Automobile / Industrial Engineering.
  • 12–18 years of experience in automotive/EV manufacturing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of EV assembly processes, supply chain, lean manufacturing, and quality systems.
  • Proven track record of managing large teams and high-volume production.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Leadership and people management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
  • Hands-on knowledge of EV technologies and assembly line automation.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
