is seeking an experienced Senior SQL Database Administrator with over

of expertise to manage and optimize our complex database systems. The ideal candidate shall have a deep understanding of
database architecture, performance tuning, disaster recovery, and security measures
. As a Senior
SQL and MySQL DBA
, you will play a critical role in maintaining the stability, scalability, and security of our databases while providing guidance to the developers.

Responsibilities:

  1. Database Administration:
    Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and performance optimization of the applications' 
    SQL and MySQL databases
    .
  2. Performance Tuning:
    Monitor and analyze database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, slow queries, and other performance issues to ensure optimal system responsiveness.
  3. High Availability and Disaster Recovery:
    Implement and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, such as clustering, mirroring, and AlwaysOn, to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
  4. Security and Compliance:
    Implement and enforce robust security measures to protect sensitive data, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and regularly conduct security audits.
  5. Backup and Recovery:
    Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data, perform routine backups, and manage recovery processes.
  6. Capacity Planning:
    Monitor database growth trends and plan for capacity expansion, including provisioning and scaling of resources as needed.
  7. Database Upgrades and Migrations:
    Plan and execute upgrades, patches, and migrations of database systems while minimizing disruptions to operations.
  8. Troubleshooting:
    Investigate and resolve database-related incidents, including identifying root causes, implementing solutions, and documenting findings.
  9. Automation and Scripting:
    Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline routine database management tasks.
  10. Technical Leadership:
    Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior DBAs, sharing best practices and fostering a collaborative learning environment.
  11. Collaboration:
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams; including developers, network administrators, and system administrators, to ensure seamless integration of database systems.
  12. Documentation:
    Maintain accurate documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures for reference and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science
    , Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years
    of hands-on experience as a 
    SQL and MySQL Database Administrator
    in a
    complex environment
    .
  • Profound expertise in
    SQL and MySQL Server database administration
    , including
    performance tuning
    ,
    HA/DR implementation
    , and
    security measures
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    database architecture
    ,
    indexing strategies
    , and
    query optimization techniques
    .
  • Experience with
    scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
    for automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
    and the ability to
    troubleshoot complex database issues
    .
  • Strong
    communication skills
    and the ability to work collaboratively in
    cross-functional teams.
