Job Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for all post-sales installation and support activity(online/on-site) and involve in pre-sales if required. He will be guided by an Application Engineering team to install the pre-sold systems and prove FAT as per End-User requirements. Bridging the expectation of the user and product possibilities will be guided by AE team. The Applications Engineering team provides technical expertise and support to FSE for completing the tasks effectively.
Essential Functions:
Understand the feasibility reports and BOM for the project that must be supported.
Plan travel and accommodation for the upcoming task effectively. Report the plan to AEL and get approval of it.
Ready to extend work on weekends or nightshifts as per project requirements. Essential planning and leave compensation will be done by AEL.
Self-prepare, fix appointments, check site readiness and complete the post-sales installation and commissioning for the given task within desired time frame.
Maintain and continuously update project information in Salesforce . Update key details directly to AEL/SE team as and when required.
Get training from AE team for the required products. Also self-learn any extended topics.
Conducts demonstrations and online trials/installations of products at customer sites, trade shows, seminars, and events.
Troubleshoots product issues and documents it for escalation and help resolve it. AE team will support wherever required.
Prepares and submits commissioning reports along with backup and SOP to AEL+SE.
Help OEM/EU prepare SOP for maintaining the installed Cognex products.
Maintaining backups of all the projects done in the common FSE database pool in a structured manner.
Seek and learn expertise in the integration of Cognex products with devices such as PLCs, PCs, or Controllers from AE team.
Continuously self develops a broad technical knowledge of Cognex’s vision and sensor product families.
Provides product feedback to AE Manager and Product Business Units to improve products.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Team Player and Creative
Willing to travel across India or abroad as per business requirements for short / long stay. Expected to have 70% of sitework both in local and out-station.
Decent written and spoken English. Spoken Hindi is an added advantage.
Knowledge of MS Office / MS Windows / Computer Networking.
Self and Quick learning skills.
Minimum education and work experience required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation/Communication/Mechatronics with 75% average or equivalent
Programming knowledge in C# / .Net / Java is an added advantage. (++)
Machine Vision / Robotics / AI / Deep Learning knowledge is an added advantage. (+)
Should be comfortable working in a factory environment and frequent travel.
