Summary:

The Cloud Ops Engineer reporting to the System Manager will be part of a talented team of engineers and will be expected to demonstrate superb technical competency in delivering critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance, and security and will focus on the day-to-day tasks of monitoring and maintaining our cloud environments Essential.


Duties and Responsibilities

 Collaborate with DevOps and Application teams to configure monitoring and ongoing support of infrastructure, including optimization.

 Accountable for maintaining all cloud infrastructure with the latest versions needed for protection from vulnerabilities.

 Support for Cloud Services including Windows and Linux Servers, virtual desktops, networking, firewalls, file servers, web servers, load balancers, VPN tunnels, backup and recovery, database operations, etc.

 Accountable for troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolutions of cloud services.

 Work with Cloud Operations team on assigned tasks for large projects, also able to manage and complete small to medium projects.

 Assist with maintaining documentation of cloud architecture diagrams and cloud policies.

 Automate manual processes where applicable.

 Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation if needed to resolve critical issues.

 May be required to work occasionally outside of normal shift hours and/or weekends.

 Required to have a quiet location to work with no interruptions, stable internet, and a mobile

device with Android 11 or greater or iOS 13 or newer for multi-factor authentication.


Education/Experience:

 Bachelors degree in CS, related disciplines, or equivalent work experience.

 8+ years of experience working with and supporting AWS .

 Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience in Windows Server and Linux operating systems

 Experience in supporting disaster recovery and business continuity solutions .

 Knowledgeable in network terminology/infrastructure (i.e., switches, gateways, firewalls, TCP/IP, VLAN, etc.)

 Supporting folder & file shares, authentication, backups, antivirus, ITIL and change management, technical and process flow documentation, Virtualization, Cloud computing, VPN tunnels, firewall rules.

 Strong troubleshooting, project execution, and communication skills.
