AWS Cloud Engineer (L3)
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Ensure operational supportability of design, development, and engineering by working with operational support team in design and development such that the solution is operationally supportable technically and is properly documented operationally.
- Capture Lessons Learned through each iteration of development process and incorporate ongoing changes to processes and/or technology to improve effectiveness
- Engineer and drive implementation of automation services into the Public Cloud
- Discuss with application manager/architects to understand requirements and document the detail requirements.
- Contribute in detail solution design for scalable, highly available, and fault tolerant hosting platform on AWS
- Guide implementation and control the flow of data to and from AWS.
- Implementing organization wide security and governance strategies.
- Implementing High Availability and Business Continuity Plan based upon RPO and RTO requirements.
- Co-ordinate with IT systems/application support, networks, and liaise for server builds and upgrades, domain configuration, and performance and tuning
- Conduct AWS Cost Optimizations initiatives
- Experienced in micro services architecture and Dockers containers.
- Experience of working on configuration management platforms.
- Strong scripting skills e g PowerShell, Python, Bash etc.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in computers or equivalent.
- AWS Solution Architect Certification (Professional level) highly desired
- Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal)
- A very strong customer focus
- Ability to juggle many tasks and projects in a fast-moving environment
- Be a self-starter who is excited about learning new and emerging technologies.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 8+ years of experience in a cloud infrastructure management/support role.
- Experience provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on AWS.
- Ability to identify and gather requirements to define a solution to be built and operated on AWS
- Capabilities to provide AWS operations and deployment guidance and best practices throughout the lifecycle of a project
- Knowledge of application deployment and data migration on AWS for different regions
- Experience with using a broad range of AWS technologies (e.g. EC2, RDS, EMR, S3, Glacier, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, Lambda, ECS, ECS, EKS, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, Private Links, NAT Gateway, ) to develop and maintain an Amazon AWS based cloud solution, with an emphasis on best practice cloud security
- Experience with DevOps Orchestration/Configuration/Continuous Integration Management technologies such as Docker, Jenkins, Ansible.
- Knowledge & experience of monitoring, logging and cost management tools that integrate with AWS.
- Automating AWS tasks using AWS tools, sdk, cloud formation scripts, command line tools.
- Backup and Restore management RDS, Mongo DB, and Databases (Maria DB, Arora DB)
- Infrastructure and Application monitoring across production and non-production platforms
- Experience with containers and HA clusters; experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Servers or Linux System administration
