Job Objective
Director Legal is a key member of the top management and acts as in-house counsel. The role provides expert and strategic legal advice to management on business decisions. Ensure legal compliance and limit exposure to risk.
Strategic Roles & Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage the legal function; ensuring regulatory compliance; providing legal support and undertaking legal action for protecting the interests of the organization.
• Will be responsible for providing strategic legal advice on new business ideas/plans, managing critical strategic litigations, handling any M&A and Joint Venture/partnership activities proposed for inorganic growth and diversification.
• Will be directly responsible for overseeing and devising the strategy for application, protection and management of IPR and Trademarks of the company.
• Extensive coordination with internal and external stakeholders including advocates, Sr. Advocates, law firms, government agencies, LEA's in strategizing and responding to legal notices, draft pleading, petitions, appeals and others.
• Responsible for developing and implementing legal procedures and policies to ensure the company's compliance with applicable laws.
• To work closely with key stakeholders on legal implications and risks involved with potential transactions such as mergers, demergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructuring, shareholders agreements, business transfer arrangements and corporate contracts and related documentation.
• Drafting/ vetting and streamlining legal documents & Agreements such as – Escrow, MoU, Master Service Agreement, Digital Vendor Agreements, and other government contracts/ letters.
• Working knowledge on corporate issues related to key statutory authorities including but not limited to Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Corporate Affairs, Registrar of Companies, Competition Law, Criminal Laws, Tax Laws, FEMA and PMLA etc.
• Advise and engage with internal teams and law firms on transaction-specific legal matters and obtaining legal opinion.

• Experience of working with large, complex business houses and knowledge on fintech, IPR and TM laws.
• Demonstrate clear and concise thought process, which is logical and innovative at the same time. • Knowledge of and experience in ensuring adherence to all statutory and regulatory compliances pertaining to any business.
• Strong network with lawyers all throughout India with expertise in handling LEA’s.
• Solution oriented mindset and an out of box thinker with high integrity, honesty, professionalism, and work ethics.
• Experience of handling a team with good communication and negotiation skills
• People Management
• Ensure a motivated workforce; Establish individual performance expectations and regularly review individual performance and recommend appropriate rewards and recognition.
• Provide team with guidance, training, and the required growth opportunities to ensure their development for higher-level roles.
Qualifications:
LLB from a premier institute & CS Member of Indian Bar Counsel is desirable Minimum 16 Years of strong experience in legal domain with a leading corporation along with deep understanding of corporate and commercial law
