  • Technical Solutions Manager will play a pivotal role in driving innovation and shaping the future of lighting technology. The position will be instrumental in providing technical guidance and support to our valued customers, ensuring seamless integration of our cutting-edge LED

solutions into their projects.

  • Identify opportunities for differentiation and innovation of Lumileds products (including services that we provide).
  • Adequately represent Lumileds to our customers and communicate Lumileds Value propositions and product solutions.
  • Direct customer-facing role to motivate and support the development engineers at our customer to apply our products for exterior lighting functions in automotive applications, General Lighting and Industrial applications.
  • That activity ranges from pitching our products partly also showcased in demonstrators, and identifying application opportunities until we finally can secure the application as a future business for Lumileds, which is the final goal of any of our customer engagements as a team. E.g. the- commercials are driven and owned by the responsible account manager in our team for the respective customer.
  • The TSM is a technical expert and should be able to provide an answer for all technical questions related to our product (LED light sources, either bare as L1 or higher integrated into modular solutions). The questions can touch mechanical, electrical, thermal and/or optical topics. In case more expertise is required the TSM can pull in the responsible product manager or a design-in engineer from our customer solution teams which are located in NAFTA, Shanghai or Aachen.
  • Supporting Sales Team, Distributor partners, customers with Technical solutions Including prototypes, and providing technical documentation in line with our strategy and customer expectations.
  • Competition benchmarking, Tech days for customers and training to sales team, Distributor partners as per timetable.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and support to customers, including design-in activities, product training, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement tailored solutions that meet customer needs and exceed expectations.
  • Stay abreast of market trends and industry developments to identify new opportunities and drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering insights and recommendations to optimize their LED lighting solutions.


Requirements:


  • Minimum 15 years of experience in New Product Development, Proven experience in technical sales or application engineering, preferably in the automotive exterior Lighting. Knowledge of General Illumination will be an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of LED technology and its applications, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-centric mindset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Bachelor's degree or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
