General Summary

The Web Developer will work hands-on with the technical toolset and development of CCL owned websites. You will be responsible for building web solutions and features with best-in-class code that are beautiful, user friendly and will enable the Marketing team to easily leverage our website to drive revenue. You will keep up with the latest web trends, ensuring our sites are secure, compliant, and modern.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of WordPress websites- Implement custom themes and plugins as needed- Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of websites- Troubleshoot and resolve website issues and bugs- Collaborate with the design and content teams to create visually appealing and user-friendly websites- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in WordPress development- Assist in website migrations, updates, and backups- Conduct QA testing prior to code releases

Required Skill Sets

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent experience of 3-7 years.- A portfolio showcasing WordPress-based, mobile-responsive websites.- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (including Tailwind CSS), JavaScript (ES6), and PHP (OOP).- Experience in WordPress theme development based on Figma or Adobe Illustrator designs.- Solid understanding of WordPress actions and filters with basic knowledge of plugin development and customization.- Familiarity with interacting with RESTful APIs, specifically the WP REST API.- Basic knowledge of build tools; familiarity with WordPress scripts for builds is preferred.- Understanding of code versioning tools, especially Git, and platforms such as GitHub (preferred), GitLab, or Bitbucket.- Experience with managing WordPress hosting providers like WP Engine (nice to have but not required).- Knowledge of SEO principles, web standards, and accessibility guidelines.- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.- Excellent communication and collaboration
