The

Reporting Specialist (BI)

is responsible for efficiently managing and disseminating service requests related to Business Intelligence (BI) reporting. This role acts as the first point of contact for BI service tickets and understands how to filter, categorize, and assign to the appropriate team members for remediation. In addition to ticket management, the role encourages career growth into a full development position by learning alongside the senior members of the Business Intelligence team including the essential skills of requirements gathering, documentation, and report creation using company visualization applications.

Roles & responsibilities:Ticket Filtering & Dissemination (Primary Responsibility) : Serve as the first contact for all BI One Desk reporting service requests. Filter, assess, and prioritize incoming service tickets, ensuring they are categorized accurately. Assign tickets to the appropriate BI team members based on complexity and availability; monitor the status of open tickets with appropriate following up.Report Creation & Maintenance:

Assist in the documentation, creation and maintenance of scheduled reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Excel, etc.). Support senior BI team members in refining existing and/or ad-hoc reports based on business needs as a pathway to understanding the established development process in anticipation of individual career growth.Collaboration & Communication : Work closely with the Senior Director of Business Intelligence to understand the various reporting needs of the company and ensure that ticket requests align with business priorities. Maintain open communication with team members and requestors, providing regular updates on ticket progress.Data Validation & Quality Control:

Help validate the accuracy and consistency of data in reports before distribution to ensure high-quality results. When ready, perform basic data analysis to assist the BI team in generating insights.Process Documentation & Improvement : Document processes for ticket filtering, dissemination, and reporting tasks. Assist in identifying and implementing improvements to streamline the ticket management process.

Education Qualification:

Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.

Experience:

1-3 years experience

Preferred Experience & Skills:Familiarity with service ticketing systems (e.g., JIRA, ServiceNow) is preferred.1+ years of experience in a customer support or data-related role (internships and academic projects considered).Experience in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent, including DAX, and Power Query/M languages is a plus.Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple requests.Attention to detail and an analytical mindset.Excellent communication and customer service skills.Basic understanding of data structures and reporting concepts.
