TECH LEAD - HCM TECHNOLOGY HCM TECHNOLOGY COLLEAGUE TECHNOLOGY - ROLE DESCRIPTION WORK IN PROGRESS The Tech Lead of Colleague Technology spearheads technology strategy advancement, leads the HCM disciplines, orchestrates DevOps in Colleague Technology and Colleague Experience Product Line. Strategic Leadership GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop and execute a future-ready HCM technology roadmap tailored to the retail workforce. * Lead digital transformation initiatives in HR, including mobile-first solutions, automation, and workforce analytics. * Stay ahead of industry trends and retail-specific challenges in workforce management. Roadmap & Prioritization * Lead team through ideation, planning, business justification and prioritization processes that ensures business alignment and optimized towards delivering business outcome and value, while at the same time adhering to budget/resource constraints. Platform Ownership ⚫ Own the architecture, implementation, and optimization of HCM platforms (e.G., SAP SuccessFactors, Dayforce, LMS, Paradox, Harver, Peakon). * Ensure seamless integration with payroll, scheduling, time & attendance, POS systems and integration layers. * Drive mobile accessibility and usability for frontline employees. * Ensure systems meet labor law requirements across regions, including GDPR and wage/hour regulations. * Establish governance for data privacy, access controls, and audit readiness. Operate as a member of the Colleague Technology - Product Line LT * Shape and drive the CXPL tech strategy, transformation, embed the operating model and role model the desired behaviours. Stakeholder Engagement & Leading the HCM discipline organisation Lead the HCM technologists: solution architects, developers, and functional analysts. * Manage vendor relationships and ensure high-quality service delivery and support * Champion the implementation and scaling of DevOps methodologies to improve agility, efficiency, and product quality. * Drive the adoption of engineering standards, architecture solutions that are cohesive with the overall IT landscape, optimizing for scalability, security, and business alignment. * Mentor and develop a high-performing team of architects, engineers, and product managers, cultivating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. PARAMETERS FOR SUCCESS SKILLS * Experience with high-volume hiring, seasonal workforce planning, and labor forecasting. * Familiarity with retail-specific systems (e.G., XXXXXXXX, or similar). * Certifications in HCM platforms or project management (e.G., PMP, Agile). * Experience with AI/ML in HR, especially for talent acquisition and workforce optimization. * METRICS KEY LEADERSHIP BEHAVIOR Ability to lead and motivate technical teams. Excellent relationship, influencing, executive presence, and negotiation skills. EDUCATION EXPERIENCE 8+ years of experience leading HCM technology initiatives, ideally in a retail or consumer-facing environment. Expertise in HCM platforms and integrations with workforce management tools. Strong understanding of HR processes including recruiting, onboarding/offboarding, mover/joiner, scheduling, payroll, and performance & compensation management. Experience with cloud-based architectures, APIs, and mobile- first design. Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills.
