The Role:

We're looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Lead. As our Accounts Payable Lead, you will lead the accounts payable team and are responsible for a variety of tasks related to managing the full accounts payable cycle, leading and mentoring AP staff, and ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures. This position goes beyond transactional processing by actively contributing to process improvements, reporting, and system enhancement initiatives that support the evolving needs of the accounting team and broader organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, from receiving and verifying invoices to executing payments.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, addressing inquiries, and resolving payment discrepancies.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop the AP team, including training new employees, assigning tasks, and conducting performance evaluations.
• Identify opportunities for streamlining workflows, implement process improvements, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations

The Desired Attributes:

• Able to work remote in India
• Good command of English speaking and writing
• Requires 5-8 years of accounts payable experience
• US GAAP experience required
• Proficiency with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines
• Experience in Sage Intacct and Tipalti preferred
• Experience with multi-currency desired
