Job Title: Assistant Manager Sourcing (Choco Spread)
Location: Kolkata (Head Office)
Industry: FMCG / Food & Beverages (Chocolate & Confectionery)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for chocolate spreads, cocoa, sugar, milk solids, packaging materials, and other raw ingredients.
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors/suppliers to ensure cost efficiency, quality, and timely supply.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and payment terms with suppliers while ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Production, and Quality teams to align sourcing with product requirements.
  • Monitor market trends, price fluctuations, and commodity indices (cocoa, sugar, dairy) to optimize procurement decisions.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and food safety norms.
  • Maintain supplier relationships, conduct performance reviews, and resolve supply chain issues.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives, risk management, and supply continuity planning.
  • Regular MIS reporting on sourcing KPIs (cost, quality, delivery, risk).

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of procurement in food/FMCG, preferably in chocolate, cocoa, dairy, or spreads.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to track commodity trends and costing.
  • Good knowledge of food safety, FSSAI compliance, and supply chain best practices.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP/SAP.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MBA / PGDM in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in sourcing/procurement within FMCG/Food industry.
  • Exposure to chocolate, confectionery, or spreads segment is highly desirable.
