Company Overview:

We are a growing healthcare company offering complete hospital solutions including medical equipment, devices, consumables, and infrastructure. We import & export high-quality products from global manufacturers and suppliers to serve healthcare providers across Nigeria.

We are seeking a Purchase Manager to lead and manage all procurement-related activities and build a reliable global sourcing network.

Job Summary:

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for sourcing medical equipment, consumables, and other hospital supplies from both local and international vendors. The ideal candidate will handle vendor development, price negotiation, purchase order management, and ensure timely procurement to meet business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Operations

Identify and evaluate reliable vendors for hospital equipment, consumables, and services.

Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.

Ensure all purchases meet quality standards, cost efficiency, and delivery timelines.

  1. Supplier & Vendor Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with international and domestic suppliers.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, payment terms, and delivery conditions.

Evaluate vendor performance regularly (quality, reliability, pricing).

  1. Import Coordination

Collaborate with logistics and import teams for procurement planning.

Ensure supplier documents (invoice, packing list, CoA, shipping docs) are complete and accurate.

Work with customs clearance agents and ensure compliance with India & Nigerian import laws, NAFDAC, SON, etc.

  1. Cost Optimization

Identify opportunities for cost savings through supplier comparison, bulk procurement, and alternate sourcing.

Monitor market trends, exchange rates, and material price fluctuations.

  1. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate purchase records, supplier files, and procurement logs.

Generate regular procurement reports for management review.

Ensure all procurement documents are audit-compliant.

  1. Coordination

Work closely with warehouse, logistics, sales, finance, and technical teams to align procurement with demand.

Track orders, deliveries, and resolve any supply disruptions quickly.


Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain, or a related field. Certification in procurement (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) is a plus.

5+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in healthcare or medical equipment.

Experience with international vendors (especially from India, China, Europe, USA).

Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

Good knowledge of Nigerian and India import regulations and healthcare product standards.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, ERP or procurement software.


Preferred Skills:

Experience handling purchases for hospitals, clinics, or pharma supply chains.

Familiarity with customs, freight forwarding, and import documentation
