About the Role
- The Analyst will be responsible for preparing and filing sales and use tax returns by the deadlines, identifying areas of improvement as well as serving an elite group of customers with highly complex returns as their primary point of contact.
What You’ll Do:We are looking for a Beverage Alcohol Tax Analyst to join our fast-paced, dynamic company. This is a great opportunity for a candidate to work in an innovative environment and grow within our business. The Analyst will be responsible for preparing and filing sales and use tax returns by the deadlines, identifying areas of improvement as well as serving an elite group of customers with highly complex returns as their primary point of contact. Candidate must be highly driven, detail oriented and proficient at balancing multiple priorities/issues.
Job Duties:Prepare, review, and file multi-jurisdictional sales/use, business and occupation, and gross receipts tax returns for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual filingsAbility to research and resolve jurisdictional notices on behalf of customersCommunicate regularly and effectively with customers, jurisdictions and other internal teams as part of research and resolutionPerform QA related to sales and use tax content and form changesManage workload to effectively meet deadlinesIdentify ways to improve process and/or technology to better serve our customers.Work collaboratively with all staff members and management
What You'll Need to be Successful:5+ years’ work experience working with Customers Onboarding / Support.
QualificationsEducation – bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics or other four-year degree with equivalent experience / MBA in Finance (preferably)
Technical SkillsStrong analytical, research, and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently yet still function as a team playerAbility to prioritize and multi-task to meet strict filing deadlinesAbility to learn and adapt to different software applications and toolsMust have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel (functions include power pivot, vlookup, hlookup, etc.)
Preferred QualificationsAdvanced degree in accounting or financeExperience with a Big 4 firm, large corporate tax department of a multinational company, or large ERP integration
