Sale Director: Design Democracy

The Sales Director is a pivotal leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding the market footprint of Design Democracy in India. The 3-day show is based in Hyderabad but position can be based in Mumbai//Hyderabad. This role entails developing and executing comprehensive sales and business development strategies, securing sponsorships, cultivating strategic partnerships, and developing and leading a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the architecture and interior design industry, a good network with leading brands, proven track record of sales success, and exceptional relationship-building skills. The role would report directly to the founders.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Sales Planning:

◦       Develop and implement sales and business development plans to achieve revenue targets for the show and for satellite properties.

◦       Identify and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and potential growth opportunities.

◦       Forecast sales performance and provide regular reports to senior management.

Sponsorship Acquisition:

◦       Identify and target potential clients and sponsors, including industry leaders, suppliers, and related businesses.

◦       Develop compelling sponsorship packages.

◦       Negotiate and close sponsorship deals.

Exhibitor Sales:

◦       Lead the sales team in securing exhibitor participation, maximizing booth sales and revenue.

◦       Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential exhibitors.

◦       Provide exceptional customer service and support to exhibitors throughout the sales cycle.

Business Development & Partnerships:

◦       Explore and develop new revenue streams within the format of the show, such as workshops, conferences, and external satellite events for Design Democracy.

◦       Represent the fair at industry events and networking functions.

Contract Management:

◦       Oversee the development, negotiation, and execution of sales and sponsorship contracts.

◦       Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications & Skills:


•             10+ years of proven track record of success in leadership roles in sales and business development in the events or interior design industry.


•             Candidate should have experience of leading a sales team.


•             Candidate should have a established network of diverse clients across industries and should be able to execute and think laterally regarding collaborations


•             Strong understanding of the product, architecture and interior design market.


•             Excellent sales, negotiation, and presentation skills.


•             Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.


•             Strong leadership and team management abilities.


•             Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


•             We are looking for candidates based either in Mumbai for Hyderabad.
